We are pleased and proud to announce that Paul Jardine has joined the Optimum team as our new Business Development Manager for Western GTA.
Here’s more about Paul in his own words…
What steps in your career led to your new position at Optimum?
As I’ve built a number of strong business relationships through underwriting in the 'B’ Space for the past eight years, this opportunity is a natural choice for me to enhance and create broker relationships both new and existing.
Why did you decide to join the Optimum team?
Optimum has a great team that is eager and ready to grow business and provide solutions for mortgage brokers.
Based on your experience, what do brokers look for in a lender?
Brokers look for lenders that will respond quickly, provide solutions for their clients and great service through building of trust and willingness to think outside of the box to close complex/challenging deals.
As the new BDM in Western GTA, what can your brokers look forward to?
Brokers can rely on me to be there to solve issues that are trying elsewhere in the 'B’ space. As I have many years of experience within in alternative market, I have been able to build relationships and trust with a vast broker channel throughout Ontario.
What is something that your brokers would be surprised to know about you?
I’ve been in the financial Industry for 15 years with Scotiabank, IA Clarington, CI Investments, Home Trust Company and Equitable Bank.

What is your favourite type of cuisine and why?
I love Greek food. Probably the garlic in the Tzatziki.
Do you have any hobbies?
I like baseball, hockey (playing and watching) and love music and movies.
What is your favourite travel destination?
I regularly vacation in Florida and Las Vegas.
Who is your favourite hockey team?
The Leafs of course!
What is one skill you wish you had but you don’t?
The ability to do EVERY deal. Although we try, sometimes there is just isn’t anything we can do.
If money were no object, what would you splurge on?
Maybe some nice cars and a few properties around the world.

Loyalty, trust and dependable.
What is your personal philosophy?
Work smarter, NOT harder!
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
More and more, my glasses (sight is what it used to be!)
