Here’s more about Cheryl in her own words…
What steps in your career led to your new position at Optimum?I have been in the mortgage industry for over 25 years and have been involved in all aspects of the mortgage life cycle including administration, funding, mortgage underwriting and business development. I was also a Mortgage Agent with a major brokerage for a couple of years so I understand and appreciate the need for an experienced and knowledgeable Business Development Manager.
Why did you decide to join the Optimum team?
I have always heard that Optimum Mortgage was a great place to work from a few of their staff members and due to the fact that they have experienced expediential growth within the last couple of years I want to be part of this growth and to work for a company that values their employees as much as Optimum Mortgage does.
Based on your experience, what do brokers look for in a lender?
Lenders want a Lender that underwrites with a common sense approach and is able to provide superior customer service.
As the new BDM in Western GTA, what can your brokers look forward to?
I have extensive experience in the mortgage industry, with vast knowledge of products and I pride myself on my customer service.
What is something that your brokers would be surprised to know about you?
I have a 10 year old daughter.

What is your favourite type of cuisine and why?
Indian, every bite is a taste explosion.
Do you have any hobbies?
Reading and golfing.
What is your favourite travel destination?
Africa, although never been there but it is on my bucket list.
Who is your favourite hockey team?
Toronto Maple Leafs.
What is one skill you wish you had but you don’t?
Singing.
If money were no object, what would you splurge on?
A mountain gorilla expedition.
